The First Man is the part of us that is strong,
but can be cut-off.

of the strength of The First Man
and the sensitivity of The Second Man.
That's crucial,
but The Third Man also has dignity.
He has dignity because he is
radically committed to himself.
He is ‘in-himself’.
He is following
his own heart's deepest calling.
Dear Men,
We are forming a national network of ‘Brotherhoods of The Whole (Third) Man'.
Q: “What’s so exciting about these Brotherhoods of The Whole Man?
Why should I become part of a Brotherhood of The Whole Man?”
A: “We can’t say what you should or shouldn’t do, but we can tell you what we feel makes these Brotherhoods of The Whole Man so inspiring...
1. They’re rooted in a deep understanding of masculine evolution, and how different masculine conditionings continue to move within us.
2. They’re rooted in a collective – as against an individualistic – perspective. Men aren’t only there for their own self-development. They’re there as part of a bigger picture – it is their participation in our collective evolution. They are part of the bigger picture - together. And this is a spoken and shared perspective – not something some men might feel, and others not.
3. There is a clear vision of The Whole Man, The Authentic Man. There are three areas that need to be cultivated for him to emerge: (a) consciousness/presence/spirituality (different men have different vocabularies for this), (b) heart/feeling capacity/emotional maturity, and (c) body/earth/sex/power. The core concept is that The Whole Man is who we are once all three of these areas open up, and we’re no longer clouded-over by our personal and collective conditioning.
4. And within the Brotherhoods of The Whole Man we have clear, flexible and powerful ways of working with these conditionings.
5. Perhaps most importantly, our honouring of the masculine is paralleled by our honouring of the feminine – not just within ourselves, but in women. And we accept that collectively they carry the feminine principle more powerfully than we do. So they have a great gift to offer us – if we are self-honouring enough to receive it.
6. And on a practical level this means that the Brotherhoods and Sisterhoods meet, and mirror each other, and exchange the gifts they have for each other. This creates magical, electric community. And cultures are no more than networks of communities...
7. So the Brotherhoods of The Whole Man are part of a vision of social change – not just personal change. They are part of a the creation of a new culture.... As the feminists said and say “the political is personal”. That’s true. And it’s true that “if we want to change society we have to change ourselves”. But the point is that the two need to be linked. That is what we’re doing in the Brotherhoods of The Whole Man.

Joseph."The weekend includes physical exercises to connect with centre, and not be tossed about by the masculine conditioning we have received (confused messages about power, sexuality, vulnerability, etc), exercises to manage this conditioning that carries us away from centre, handouts with 'maps' of these understandings, brotherhood, and (as always) the unexpected...
The atmosphere is relaxed, but focussed; conscious, but unpretentious.
You will be able to integrate the exercises you learn into your everyday life, and definitely benefit - whether you go on to do The Initatory Journey (or any further work with Joseph) or not.
Full cost is £150 (£135 members).
Payment is by 50% deposit, the remainder on the day.

PRIVATE MENTORING FOR MEN
These are regular (usually weekly) one-to-one sessions with Mark Josephs-Serra (Joseph)
These sessions offer men a grounding in the basic Third Man Menswork 'tool kit': models, maps, exercises and practices to be able to live from The Third Man in us - and to support us in dealing with all of those parts that resist our living our potential. This is hands-on stuff. It will make a difference in your life. It is a supported, focussed, inspirational journey. It will build your physical, emotional and spiritual muscles!
Sessions last an hour and cost £45.
After an initial meeting Joseph asks for a commitment to a minimum of 8 sessions. After that you will review the situation together.

For men who are coming from outside Devon, Joseph can sometimes offer the option of meeting once in the late afternoon, staying overnight in a local B&B or Hotel, and then meeting for a second session on the following morning. This can be a very worthwhile trip. The overnight stay gives time to digest the afternoon session, and the whole journey becomes time you are giving to yourself.
